Lakewood is a city in Jefferson County, in the Denver-Aurora metro area. Located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, the community was named for Lakewood, NJ and was incorporated in 1969.

LakeWood is the fourth most populous city in the United States with a population of almost 140,671 according to US Census Bureau, 2005.
